Holly Grange ad falsely claims she "fought to protect our drinking water"
Holly Grange, a rising star for the Republican Party, who was appointed by McCrory faces a tough reelection campaign in New Hanover County.
In an ad, Grange claims she “fought to protect our drinking water and the illegal discharges and empowered Governor Cooper to stop GenX pollution for good.” Grange’s record in the General Assembly, however, proves otherwise.
Grange, who serves as Chairman of the Select Committee on North Carolina River Quality, has repeatedly failed North Carolinians by failing to protect our drinking water:
- Grange allowed Chemours lobbyists to write key 2018 budget provisions dealing with GenX and other contaminants.
- Grange voted for the 2017 Republican budget that ordered DEQ to cut $1.8 million over the next two years, “just days” after the GenX spill came to light.
Despite Grange’s claims that she’s “fought to protect our drinking water,” it’s clear she’s only fought to protect the interests of big businesses and has failed to protect North Carolinians and their health.
Holly Grange faces Democrat Leslie Cohen in the House District 20 race in New Hanover County.
